The Nanaimo Timbermen slipped to fifth place in league standings after an 8-6 loss at home to the Coquitlam Adanacs Saturday June 17th. The Adanacs jumped out to a 4-0 lead 13 minutes into the contest and took a 5-3 advantage into the first intermission, with Ryan Forslund picking up a pair of goals for the T-men. After the Adanacs added to their lead early in the second period, Josh Joseph led a three goal comeback that tied the game at six by the seven minute mark, but that was all she wrote for Nanaimo as Coquitlam scored with 6:43 to go in the middle stanza and added an insurance marker late in the game to hand the hosts their fifth loss in the last six games. Nanaimo outshot Coquitlam 40-38 with Nick Patterson stopping 30 of 38 shots in his second game of the season. Forslund (3G) and Robert Debrone (3A) led team scoring.
Our next game is Saturday June 24th when we visit the Royal City Capitals. Our next home game is Saturday July 8th when we host the Valley Rebels at Frank Crane Arena. Face-off at 6:00pm.

The Canadian Lacrosse Association has approved the bid by the Nanaimo Timbermen to host the 2018 Presidents’ Cup national senior B lacrosse championships. The announcement came seven weeks after the WCSLA selected the bid from the Harbour City. "We're extremely happy. It's really huge for Nanaimo lacrosse. It's been a stressful seven or eight weeks while we were waiting for the CLA to give approval but it all worked out," said Team Governor Shawn Swanson. WCSLA Commissioner Dave Parsons says the league will act in a support role for the Nanaimo organizing committee. "It's good for the league, and it's good for Nanaimo. Shawn and the committee will do a good job - he's been around the game for many years," said Parsons. All games will be played at Frank Crane Arena.
