The defending League and Provincial Champion Langley Warriors' hopes of a first place finish took a major hit Thursday July 6th in Ladner when the host Pioneers dominated in an 18-7 win, despite being outshot 54-51.  The Warriors trailed 4-3 after 20 minutes but were outscored 10-3 and 4-1 in the second and third periods to close out the fourth loss of the season.  Ian Poole led Langley scoring with one goal and three assists, while starter Joe Bell and reliever Ryley Brown had tough nights in goal, stopping only 33 of 51 Ladner shots.

The Warriors' next home game is Tuesday July 11th when they host the Royal City Capitals at the George Preston Recreation Centre.  Face-off at 8:30pm.

The Langley Warriors are 2016 WCSLA and Provincial Senior B Champions after sweeping the reigning champion Nanaimo Timbermen 3-0 in the best-of-5 league final series.
